Has anyone put an LS1 motor form a vette or camaro into a Late 70's corvette. I am looking for a new motor and really wanting to do a LS1 swap. Is this possible? Will it fit? What do I need to look out for?
There is a forum member or two who have done it, 70LS1 comes to mind. I had dreamed of doing this with my 80. I say go for it, put be prepared because ALOT of things are different. That 5.7 litre isn't even a 350, its a 346, but one bad **** one.
Yeah 70LS1, but I think he is in the military so not able to post, but I could be wrong. It takes a lot of fabrication. It took 70LS1 a year to do it, but it was on and off work as he was busy with the military, so maybe 6 months if you work hard at it.
I put an LS1 and ZF6 in a trashed 90 Vette. I bought a totaled Transam. You just have to have someone that knows all about the late model computer systems.
