Steve, I understand, I have sold many a car when it was time for it to go, and me to move on to another 'hotrod' it's the way of cars and tin and rust, and such....but you see, fiberglass will be around long after we are done....
Sincerely glad someone is doing well in today's economy, it surely sux out there....
Goodluck on all of your future ventures. I have silently followed your project since it's inception and am duely impressed you finished it at all. Life goes on and I only wish I had the follow through you've got.
Steve, good luck to you, many of us drive a ricer as a daily car, some just won't admit it, myself, I drive a 83 Toyota Supra with 304,000 miles on it and love it, not like a vette but it gets me there even if a little, I mean a lot, slower.
Good to hear from you, Merlin. You're still an inspiration to me. I don't know how you manage all this work!
My 2nd year of undergrad studies in comp engineering is dying down. I can not find a bait for the life of me... I wish I could get a summer internship. Wanna teach me something? I'm willing to learn!
It's too bad about all the cars going, but I suppose it is best that you concentrate on the important things until you have time to settle.
Steve, thanks for the ride...it's been fun anticipating the installments on Project Merlin. Take care my friend, and who knows, our paths may cross yet.
Throw a tarp over it for now, if it's done let it sit and collect dust. One day you will wish you still had it.
If it's money your after, there are better places to sell it, Barrette Jackson comes to mind, lots of big money every year.
well steve, it sux your leaving, but im glad you completed merlin. i didnt even know about it until way after 9/11. im glad you stuck through all the BS too. that probably thickend your skin a bit. thanks for sharing your dream, as it was not just your dream. id love to have my 79 be exactly what merlin is, but i cant even fathom spending the time and money you did on it.
BTW i was wondering if VETTE, corvette fever, CHP, super chevy etc had ever given you a call, knocked on your door etc... yours haaaas to be the most famous vette on the internet. ive found your vids on kazaa, and the guys at COSR.com were even talking about it and all its badassness.
now the real question... how in gods name are you gonna fit a 777 twin turbo motor in that puny accord?!?!
good luck in the future steve, youve been a great inspiration and a great friend.
Good to hear from you, Steve! All the best!
BTW, How do you fit into that Civic? I have visions of 'Police Academy' with Bubba Smith tearing the front seat out of that sub-compact and sitting in the rear!

Even if the cars are gone, don't you dare go nowhere! You have contributed so much to this community and hopefully you will still have time to chie in every now and then and share some words of wisdom. IMO Merlin was real success and a benchmark in the world of customized cars! I doub't I'll ever see anything quite like it and with such a passion you worked on yours.
Hopefully you have few days off from work in June and you will meet some of us guys from the forum at the 50th bash in Nashville and Bowing Green!
Keep your head up Steve and the best of luck to your new adventures and projects! x 1000000000
Thanks for sharing your story and the website. If I have enough money for the car I would buy it just to keep in my garage. Good luck to things that you have to do and you will be successfull with your skills and knowledge.
Steve,
Thanks for sharing the creation of Merlin522 with us. I had always looked forward to the updates. But, as it is said, "all good things must come to an end" and Merlin certainly is a "good" thing.
Good luck with your future goals.
MerlinV-Tec (just kidding) I am amazed and glad that I’ve got to share a small part of this life journey with you. I have always been impressed with your projects and am so happy that you finished the car.
Then theirs a whole new side of you shown. Yea probably sounds like I’m pushing keys and not making much sense, but I’m in awe. Most men in you shoes are additied to money and can’t see past the green. I sense something has happened to teach you this lesson and the funny thing is you’ve learned from it where as most will push on and ignore the lesson.
A very wise person used to say in their signature “What you do in this life time echoes a eternity”. Peace and may you stand true to yourself in the journey.
Steve, I want to thank you for the wild ride that was Merlin. You generously shared your heart and soul and this forum is the better for it. You’ve touched a lot of lives on the net in pursuit of your dream. I (and I’m sure many others) remember anxiously awaited each and every installment. What a ride it was to live vicariously through you. Screw all the detractors; you did what so many jealousy dream of being able to do (me included).
Few events in our lives are as significant, career changing, and deeply morally affecting as 911. My career path as a military pilot was utterly changed with the collapse of the airline industry. I am lucky to be happy, healthy and employed, but I know many others are not as fortunate. Take stock in what’s important in life, but don’t let it crush your dreams and aspirations.
You’re a deeply passionate guy. I can see that by how you attack a project and how hard you work to get what you want in life. But you’ll never get the love of cars out of your veins. Kick back, recharge and enjoy life and I’m sure we’ll see another project in the future.
