My sunvisors are the last parts of my interior that are not new or have not be dyed to new. So it's a lazy afternoon and time to dye. But I can't figure out how to get them off that long pin/shaft. Or how to get the mirror off. Any hints/ideas?

i cant find one exactly like the original so if you run across one, let me know...

You started me on this project with the IM. Remembered it was a round-to-it. Well, this is the pin. Just pulled the visors off with a little pull.
Here are the old faded. Material is fine.
The dye job is now finished. Just waiting for the adhesive on the back of the mirror to set before installation. Thanks Signguy; I needed that kick-start this morning!

Re: Sunvisor Removal. How? (paul79)
Luckily the day I went to buy my C3 from the dealer I had this issue taken car of.
I sit really high in the car and the visor was in my way. I asked them to take it off before I picked up the car, but they really didn't want to because they thought I would then come back asking them to fix it.
Anyway, as I climbed in to drive off I glared at it and wondered what it would take to pull that thing off the car. As I shut the door, the visor fell off and dropped in my lap. A quick toss of it into the back of the car and I drove off with a smile.
The salesman about fell over laughing at the sight of this.
I would say two cans of the lustre coat. It seals the dye from greasy hand stains and gives a slight lustre look. The dye is very flat/matte in colour. But quite frankly I did not have the lustre coat yesterday and I did make a bit of a streak of 3M adhesive for the mirror on the new dye (one hour old) and it came off with a little bit of varsol. That dye is incredible: no lifting. Today out for my second ride of the season it looks...just fine! I had three people give me the thumbs up within an hour!
I missed the obvious: the sunvisors just pull off (with a bit of muscle)
That's why they call me "Captain Obvious" !! I was going to give you the following instructions: Grab the left side with your left hand. Grab the right side with your right hand. Pull as hard as you can!! - I gurantee the sucker will come off! Of course, my instructions were supposed to have you rip the thing off your car.... oh well... glad it didnt break! :) MJ
When you say "dye", is it really dying or are you spray painting on color, then top coating? Is the "spray paint" special or with Kryon work with the top coat you suggest?
Paul,
Thanks again for a great thread. I will be doing my interior soon also and would like to get your comments on the dye. Is there a differend dye for the seat material and the hard shell backs? Or will the same dye work for both?
As you can see from the pic it is called dye. It is sprayed on like paint, however. I really do not know what distinguishes a dye from a paint?? I suspect it soaks in rather than coats, hence the importance of prepping properly to remove any old ArmorAll and the like.
I have used Krylon transparent. Here is a dash overlay with Krylon. It tends to be on the glossy side.
These weatherboots were dyed from black and finished with Krylon also.
Is the mirror original? Just glued on? I have wondered about the mirror and if a'78 Pace should hve one. If it is just glued on, it becaomes very easy to add on.
There has been debate in the past as to whether that type of dye can be used on seating surfaces. My seats are from Al Knoch and thus were wet dyed at the factory. My inclination would be to not use it on heavy contact areas such as seat cushions. But I have not tried a project like that and cannot speak from experience.
