Thers is a post about what kind of carb are you using. one of the options is a Lars Q-Jet. I asked what is a Lars Q-jet? 73-LS4 said it is a Q-jet tuned by Lars. I didn't want to Highjack the post, so Here is my question. Who is lars? Is this a kit or a guy. If it is a guy do I have to have him tune it or does he have some kind off specs so I can do it myself. I think I remember seeing Lars mentioned a lot on the forum I guess I just haven't been paying attention. I'm not to quick on the uptake sorry.
Lars is a ageless mystic who lives somewhere off in the mountains of Colorado. He has sometype of magical powers when it comes to muscle cars and vettes- I think he might even have been mentioned in the old "Chariots of the Gods" book of teaching the ancients how to fly :yesnod:
Actually, that might be a bit of an tale :D
Lars is a forum member who has been on here awhile and rebuilds/restores old cars. He has been kind enough to help others many, many times and has written several tech articles which you can find over on http://www.corvettefaq.com Lars rebuilt a Q-jet for me 2 years ago, when he had time to take on such projects, and it never ran better!
Guys like him are few and far between these days

About 4 years ago or so, I sent my Stumblin', gaggin', not run for squat Q-Jet out to Lars, when he was doing these things here on the Forum. From the time it left my door to its safe and sound return to MI took about 10 days. It didnt look like the same Carb, and it sure as HELL didnt run like it either! Havent had to touch it since I got it back, except to go to bigger primary Jets at his recommendation due to freer flowing heads and headers. All at the ridicously LOW cost of 100 bucks (4 yrs ago). He is truly a FORUM Guru, along w/Ganey, and folks here should heed his words...........

Re: LARS ???? (jaybird81)
Thanks for the kind words and comments, guys - always nice to know that the hardware is running well!
jaybird - I only do the early Q-Jets built 1980 and earlier - I don't do any ECM-controlled stuff, so I can't help you on the '81 - sorry! Let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist.
