Drivetrain loss ??
What is the tyical drivetrain loss for a C3 with an automatic when converting RWHP to crank HP. Someone told me 27% but that seems way steep even for an auto.

I'd say 18% for a 4speed, 20% for a Th350 and maybe 22% for a TH400.
For moderen cars 20% for auto and 15%-18% for a 6speed.
27% sounds too high to me.

700R4 should have about the same drivetrain loss as a TH350. The reason the TH400 loses more through the drivetrain is because it's a beefier transmission with larger parts (i.e. takes more power to turn the parts).
