A nitwit backed up into my car.
I was visiting some friends saturday night, my car was the last one in the driveway. about 11:30 at night a girl that was visiting my friends son came in and said she backed up into my car. She backed up without looking! I just had the car painted the end of last summer. This was the second time i've taken the car out this year. I took the car to the body shop and I got a $1200.oo estimate to repair my front quarter. Her insurance is going to look at it next Saturday. I'm bringing the estimate I got with me. I hope (Allstate)
her insurance dosn't try to talk the estimate down. I need this fixed right away. I have already missed two shows I was entering in. :cry

man, i think it's just the way of the world. it's like some kind of cosmic curse. granted, your car has been painted longer than typical. it seems that most people can't go two months before things get FUBARed but you've made up for it with the garage time.
you know how i avoid stuff like that? i just don't repaint my car! trust me, it needs it too. i will one day but it probably won't be a really nice paint job because i figure the cosmic carma thing dictates that the nicer the job the worse the car will get when it gets smacked.
sorry to hear about it. i think the only thing you could do is move to montana or something but then you'd probably end up hitting an elk or something.

That's exactly how I got my paint job, 18 year old girl backed out of a drveway when I was driving down the road, didn't look.
Had to pay a little extra to paint the whole car but it was worth it, would never have been able to afford it at the time or now for that matter. Sometime things happen that look bad but end up good :D

How's this for weird. Someone bonked into the nose of my '78 about a month ago and then split. My insurance covered it, got the whole car repainted, looked terrific. The owner of the body shop brings it to my house to drop it off, and BONKS IT INTO MY GARAGE DOOR! :cry
He did say he'll repair it at no cost to me.

no, keep flaming them, im18, but i consider myself a MUCH better driver.
BUT there was this one time, i had just got some food, pulled out onto the road, at a red light, light turned green, and as we pulled out, i had to hit my brakes (some nitwit stopped in front of us), and i always look in the mirror to make sure that stupid people dont get too close, and low and behold there a woman was, fiddling with something in the floorboard! WHAMM, hit hard in the rear end, no damage, just cosmetic, and stress cracks, 1350 for the repairs, im doing myself, matter of fact, just started wednesday night, also, i got an L88 hood and new front and rear glass bumpers to go on my car!!

my brother just got his 75 painted the brightest possible red in savannah and as his roomate said it was a "Magnet" he ment a magnet to anything, girls as well as stupid people low and behold a month later a fricken street sweeper hit the driver front fender and cracked the whole thing, but as expected the city brought out the street sweeper and said it wasnt them and all and do you really think your going to beat them in thier court room where they pay the rulers. well then like 2 weeks after that some guy smashed the side window in and tried to steal it but couldnt cause of a kill switch in it, thank god. so now he has a smashed dender ruined paint and a smashed window all within one and a hal;f months from the paint liability only on top of that. he was gonna go back a week l;ater and have a clear coat put on the care since it had to cure for a month or so at least it didnt happen then

Allstate is one of the tightest paying insurance companys there is but you will get what you are entitled to, just make sure it is to your satisfaction before you accept the settlement.

I feel for you,
Mine was painted in November after being hit by 2 Harley's while it was parked. then last month, a couple of 16 year old's push their car into the rear while waiting for my next run down the drag strip... :cry :cry :cry

i know how it is ....right before i bought my red vette with new paint someone backed into it at da grocery store ! I've always hated , no totally dis-liked Stupid people ! but sometimes it could be a total accident w/ out being a dumb butt ! could it be karma ? i hope that's not it . :confused:

This happened in the staging lanes, there are 6 lanes and each lane moves up 2 car lengths at a time. Lots of people just push their car ahead instead of getting in and out and starting it up over and over....Sometimes the wait can be 10 minutes per move...Firebird is really slow on Friday nights.. :mad
