Default is this a good deal???

hi guys. have a chance to pick up an unassembled engine kit. here goes, standard bore 350 block. new sportsman II heads. eagle stroker crank, eagle 6"rods, j&e 9 to 1 pistons, file fit second ring, regular top ring, low tension oil ring??melling oil pump. mallory distibuter, crane 280 something cam, roller rockers, true roller timing chain, flexplate and dampener. pioneer ???bolts. im in the auto body business and not a true gearhead, but learning. a guy over in service will assemble it and tune it for 200 bux. he knows his stuff, races circle track. i think its a 377??? cubic inch engine??some of the parts im not too sure what they are and could have some stuff wrong. going off of memory from this morning, and at my age , not all that accurate any more. anyway i can get everything for 2000 bux, brand new parts. good deal?? also , more importantly, will this thing be streetable enough for a daily driver?? carl, the mechanic, says the cam will have enough vacuum for my power brakes , headlites and stuff, and my stock converter will be ok. ok motorheads, i need some input here. thanks, regards, fng :

sounds like a lot for a motor in boxes. There might be some good stuff in there that might be worth some decent money. The experts will have to chime in on that. But there are serveral forum members running and racing motors from this Auto Restorations. Check this auction out:

Just an alternative with no uncertainties.

If you can get that many horses, and there's some good parts there (for longevity), I think it's a good deal. I've seen recon., base 350's with low h.p. and generic parts selling for $1500. I would buy it.
