Default 350 block

I am going to buy a 350 block with the casting number 3970010 I think that my 1980 vette has the same casting number and I wanted to know what a block like this was worth.

Default Re: 350 block (frosty80vette)

3970010 block were used in all Chevy cars and trucks during the 70's and early 80's. Some are 2 bolt mains and others are 4 bolt mains.

Look for an 010 or 020 casting under the timing cover to indicate high tin/high nickel content.

A known good standard bare block is generally worth $75.00 to $100.00. If it is a 010/020 block then about $150.00 to $175.00.
