Hey Fellas,
New here, but have been enjoying your posts for a while now. My question is, on my 69 convertible, where the hell is the flasher for the turn signals? Is that it on top of the steering column behind the dash? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
It is in a clip under the passenger side dash pad about 2/3 of the way to the right at the bottom It shoud be a round plastic canister type with a capacitor soldered to it on the outside if it is the original.
That's interesting. Looking at the assembly manual, I thought it was on the driver's side. Well, if you don't mind my asking, what is it that's mounted on top of the steering column then? There are 2 pink wires, one routes to the fuse panel, the other has a female connector that I haven't figured out where it goes. There is also a purple wire that leads back to the fuse panel. BTW, thank you for your reply.
No kidding. I really do appreciate the info. I knew the flasher on the fuse box was for the hazard lights, but couldn't find the turn signal flasher. I spent about 4 hours Saturday looking for it. One more thing, can you point me in the general direction direction of the wiper relay? If I can possibly answer any questions you might have, please email me. Thanks again.
The wiper relay is not fun to get to. I assume you mean the electrical relay. It is on the back of the tachometer.. There are no new ones available but there is an article on how to rebiuild them at http://www.corvettefaq.com along with a lot of other helpful stuff.
According to the wiring diagram I have, there should be a pink and a purple wire connected to the flasher. I'll let you know for sure after I find it Saturday
