Charge for Corvette Plant Tours?!?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this makes them different from 99% of other companies in what way....
[QUOTE]I guess were lucky they still even build a car as impractical as the Corvette.

Luckiest people around if we can afford to buy a new one.
[QUOTE] Not only should they not charge for the plant tour. I believe they should fund the NCM as well. These are perfect advertisments for their product. They think nothing of spending millions for a commercial or to pay a celebrity to advertise their products but the common man has to donate his hard earned cash to keep the NCM going when Chevrolet benefits from its existence more than anyone else.

When was the last time we saw or heard a TV/Print/Radio specifically selling the Vette? I'm not talking about a GM ad where they showcase the entire stable, Just the Vette.
Furthermore how does a museum full of 30-40 yr. cars sell new ones. It might sell old ones but when I bought my '69 I didn't write the check out to GM.
I can't even bring customers on to my loading dock for insurance reasons much less my production area. An inside look into the production of the car we are all obviously passionate about is worth 5 bucks.

Don't understand how a museum across the street from the factory is an advertisment for GM? I don't know what to say.
I know they have to pinch their pennies to give the execs. their 100 milion dollar bonuses.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Nope, if I was a VP at GM I'd be in the c6 section threatening lawsuits and such. SO we agree to disagree, life goes on.
Also if the C6 comes out anything like the "new" Pontiac Grand Prix and "new" GTO who'll go there anyway?
Keep on mixing it up tv, makes things interesting around here!

The museum is cool. But the plant tour can't be beat.
I'd pay for it. But it seems good PR to make it free. I saw a lot of field trips there, lots of future Vette owners running through the plant.
Keep it free.
