Default dyno'ing question

is it worth it if the shop will NOT be logging A/F ratio? my inital reaction is no...

???

i did it without the air flow meter. Wish I did it with it. Either way you will find out how much HP your putting down. But usually it is only 20 bucks or something to have it done with the AF sensor.

I did it without. I only wanted to know the rwhp before changing the engine. It would tell a lot more with it though.

Depends on what you want your dyno experience to do for you. If you just want bragging numbers or just to see what your hp/torq numbers are, then go ahead. If you want to tune your carb, timing, or just get a idea of how well your engine is tuned, then you need air/ fuel ratio along with any other data they can give you. The hp/torq numbers will show you what you have, but the a/f will show you how you got it, and if there might be more hp in there. Hershey :chevy

I did my first Dyno run yesterday with my 98. Was glad I had the A/F readings. Showed I was running out of both. Air because of no forced air or even fan on the car, and figure the fuel is the pressure regulator (need to swap to an adjustable and up the dosage).

This was validated today when I swapped the plugs. They were barely burnign at all.
