With all the discussion lately about aerodynamic numbers, why don't we start a fund raiser to test our cars and post the offical numbers. I'm sure we will need to get the forums' approval & need to use their treasurer (sp).
I'm not sure how it would exactly work, but we would need to find a faucility that would be willing to work with us. Once we get the ok and cost, we could start a fund raiser to purchase a "day" at the faucility. If we had to, we could open it up for C1's to C5's and make it forum wide.
To select the cars, we could see who has stock bodied cars that are near the tset center and test as groups, IE: '53-55, 56-62, 63-67, 68-72, 73, 74 -76 & so on.
We could also put the car on scales and tie it down somehow to see if the front is getting light or if downforce increases.
I'd be willing to give $30-$40 out of my pocket to see this happen.
If there are too many folks that want to do this, we could also set up a "lottery" for a lucky few.
When we hang the bodys on a Winston Cup car you have to buy tunnel time in 1/2 day increments. A 4 hour test session runs about $60K. Without factory backing most Nascar teams can't afford to buy enough tunnel time.
I hope you have plans for a BIG fund raiser! :hurray:
