Default Dyno today

Dropped the car off last night...Hoping to be over 300 RWHP.. It was 290 last year, I've since done some port work, added an H-pipe and upgraded to an MSD ignition.

That is almost exactly what I plan on building, already have the same cam and most of the stoker parts. Might take the new LT-1 Intake off my Formula to use in the vette. How is the torque with that?

I am suprised you weren't over 300RWHP already. You should be at 325 RWHP with that setup...

It's a 72 Lt1 intake, not a late EFI Lt1. I have a problem, but don't know where. I was down 40 hp on the first pull (245hp) and was super rich. Jet change got it up to 275, but that's still 10 less than last year. I was hoping for 305-310. I think the valves are floating, will know more next week....

Fevre,

It's torquey. pretty lame below 2,000 RPM, but I've got a 4 speed and 3.70's so it doesn't spend much time down there.

:jester

Last year, it was 340 tq. @ 3500 peak. 300 min. from 2500-4900. It's down about 10 ft.lbs. across the board.

Same why my 350 acts with that came, lame until about 2500 then hold on! Ya sounds like you got a problem, done a comp and leak down test? How's your timing and adv curve?

Timing and advance curve is fine....It's at 35 degrees all mech.. The vac. is plugged off( we had it at 38, but made more power where it's at).....Don't remember what RPM it's in by, but it's before 3000.

Have not done a compression and leakdown test yet...Motor is barely a year old, so I don't think it's an issue, but it will be checked along w/ the valve springs. It's done at 5,000 and the power dips right after peak then picks back up, that's why we're thinking valve springs. This cam should pull to at least 5500 in this engine. I'm peaking at 4800.

No access to a scanner. We checked the springs yesterday and they have less than 100 lbs. at the seat. Should have new ones in on Wed.
