Default what's it worth?

I have a 1979 L-82 auto, white tops, red leather interior, 35K miles

interior is mint, needs new floor mats, carpets are a little faded, original tape deck installed, all power accessories work great
engine has 1000 miles on fresh rebuild, with coated headers/2 1/2'' exhaust, higher performance heads, high compression pistons, bigger cam, the block and intake have been repainted original blue
the exterior paint has 1 or 2 chips, otherwise it is flawless
it has new tires, and the rims are polished up, but missing 2 centre caps

Sweet car. Check out www.autotrader.ca to compare your car to others. There is an 'outside of Ontario' section under 'Region'.

The condition of the frame will be a big factor in what the car is worth. Your mileage is quite low which is a big plus for your asking price.

The engine being not 100% original may actually make the car worth less than one that has an original engine. There are people out there however that are willing to spend more on a redone engine so its hard to say.

If you are selling it in the Peg you may not get as much for it compared to somebody selling it in Toronto. But maybe you could get more for it because there are probably less vettes in the Peg.

Hopefully that helps

Why are you getting rid of it? The best way is to get it appraised and check out the auto traders for your area... That will be your best litmus (sp?) test..

Sorry, that was mentioned already.... :banghead:

i also figured that since this was a 1979 vette, that the original 350 may not have the pop that people would like, so a fresh rebuild and some beefier parts might make it more desireable

I hate when personal economics screw with our favorite cars, but I hear ya...

Just as a reference, I (over)paid CND$8500 for mine about 3-4 years ago, in Northern Ontario, and she was in DIRE need of an interior, and other things... E-mail me if you need a few more details, but your car sounds like it's much better than mine was....

Good luck! (keeping your Vette that is :D )
