Default Need help with wheel fitment please

I have a 1980 vette and am in hte process of putting new wheels and tires on it. I am putting 17x9.5 sawblades from a 96 all the way around. The rear tires are 285/40/17 and the fronts are 275/40/15.

I called vette brakes and askes what adapters would be necessary and they advised me to put their 2.5 inch spacers on the back and 2.25 inch spacers on the front.

The front ones seem to fit OK, but I think I am hitting something at full turn. The rear spacers make the tire stick outside of the fender :( . When I put the 2.25 spacers on the back, the fit seems better although the wheel is awful close to the lateral leaf spring bushing (I have a fiberglass VB rear spring).

What I would like to know is if anyone else has a similar setup, or uses these adapters, and can help me with sizes? I have seens pics of foum members with a similar setup and would like to know, what do you use?

Do the 2.25 in the rear work? What should I look at for contact areas?
What might the front be hitting if anything?

Please, any help will be greatly appreciated.
