fatter engine needs a fatter stereo
I didn't mount the amp directly to the bulkhead as it was too tall. I made some stand-offs about an inch thick to space the mounding plate out. The mounting plate also has the relocated compartment light. I may or may not try to cover the wiring. I doesnt really bother me as it is rarely seen. The top clears the amp by about 4 to 6 inches when closed. The 6x9's don't give as much bass as I would like in those little boxes, but since I occasionally take the car on weekend trips I don't want to scarifice any more space.
Heres the front
I made a stand-off to mount the lower right corner to the crossbrace. It is very solidly mounted.
Here's the new tweeter siliconed to the piller. The crossover hanging down was mounted to the back of the amp with doublebacked tape.
I've only had a few minutes with the new amp and speaks so far, but having the tweeters facing the passengers really clears things up compared to the das units alone. The head unit is a Pioneer removable face something or other with a cd player. The remote has a hole in it which I ran a cable thru and bolted the other end to the seat mount so the remote will never get lost and if someone want to steal it they can, but I don't worry to much a about it. I is easy to hide.
So far the new Tool CD is coming thru loud and clear!
Chris
