Default clutch slippage possibly??

today i opened the car up, i only went through the first 3 gears my shift point was between 5000-5300 when i go into the city i noticed it was a bit hard to get into first, normally if i was just sitting in the car i could easily put it into all 4..... this clutch only has 1050 miles on it, i was very easy on it untill i put 600 miles (that is i kept the rpms under 3500) at 900 miles is when i would occasionaly see 4500rpm, this was the first time i shifted this high, it got there very quickly.. is this normal because it's still new??
the cluch is a duel friction centerforce clutch and pressure plate, and a billet steel flywheel

Check your linkage madvette 74. The grooves in operating rods, the pedal pin (on pedal arm/assembly), and definatly the cross bar holes. :yesnod: Replaced my clutch to discover all linkage was worn out and creeping in operation. Also had pedal pin little spot weld bust in the driveway leaving the pedal on the floor. Mine had at least 135k mi. and maybe 235k mi.. :auto:
