is there, a certain amperage switch i need to us, it would be for an electric fan, and another for an electric pump. i have a thermostat controlled fan, but the damm thing didn't turn on at 210 it's suppose to turn on at 195, it doesn't hardly see over the 200 but i got onit hard the other day and it didnt want to come down
Don't use switches to turn fans and fuel pumps on. Use relays. Relays are under $5 CDN, handle 30 amps easily and last forever. Use switches to turn on the relay. Swithches can't handle alot of power for long.
The relay is hooked to a heavy live line then to the fan or fuel pump. The switch handles very small current and is used only to energize the relay.

I have my fans directly wired to the switches... however - I agree that using relays is the batter way to run the fans..

There are switches in the MIL environment I would trust to operate high amperage DC devices, but not your run of the mill autoparts store stuff. Heavy duty switches are more like circuit breakers than toggle switches.
Any parts store has 30 amp relays for under $5. Why bother with military stuff? These cheap plentiful relays are easy to mount, easy to wire, can do the job and use a cheap switch on the dash or where ever to activate the relay. This system will last forever, no so with switches.
