That really sucks. Have you figured out what the root cause was? Did the piston just disintegrate or was the cylinder wall just too thin? Had you been dragging it a lot? How many miles did you have on it?
I have alot of adds from Nitroz on BB-blocks that I can mail you. I have saved them during this spring to have them in case....
If you want to go with new block/engine, I found that http://www.sdpc2000.com had the most experience of export and were nice to deal with. http://www.sv.cargonet.se has monthly shipping from Florida and nice price if you can wait for it, by air costs ~12000 kr ($1500), whole engine. The total price for an engine from Texas (SDPC) to Gothenbourg via Florida were 5000 kr incl insurance ($625).
That stinks! What a shock that must have been for you. You seem to be handling it OK though so that's a good thing. Hopefully you'll have it back on the road soon!
That's a real bummer, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can find a replacement for a reasonable amount of money. Sleeving the block sounds like a good idea unless you are concerned with the other cylinders.
Peter:
Sorry to hear about the motor. Even if the bore is +.030", boring the motor over to .060" isn't going to help anything if it is cracked.
I think he understands this, but meant that the cylinder walls weren't so thin that they should have cracked.
Yes i understand this.
We checked it down further to day and this is what we`ve found.
The Nr 4 piston lost its skirt and tilted in the cylinder, this caused the cylinderwall to collaps..Now i`m on the prowl for a shortblock with forged internals.Hyperpistons is not longer a choice :mad :mad
Going around and being mad and cussing at the person who built the engine isn`t going to help me.This is the way it is,and i just have to act from it..
Good news..Found a replacement block. Its not a "dream, all forged"engine, but it has never been bored and it will keep me on the road this summer anyway..454 2 bolt with cast crank and forged pistons,781 heads and a new cam..1300$...  I`m back in buisness...
Well,Its a bit smaller (454 vs 461) but all the power is made in the top of the engine.I´ll change the 781s that`s on the engine to my 781s wich are ported and has bigger valves,so the power output will be less, but not much, probably. My roller setup will also be added to the engine..
