Default I need a little help with some wiring and bracket issues.

I'm finishing the exhaust and mounting all of the accessories, hoses etc...

Since I don't have good pre-engine removal photos, can anyone show me how the power steering pump rear bracket mounts? I have the front two bolts attached, but I don't see how the bracket in back mounts to the motor mount.

Also, which wires go to the different posts on the starter? I am replacing them since they are all melted, but I can't tell where they all go and the wiring diagram doesn't help.

Finally, since I have the new TPI and AC wiring harnesses, what do I do with all of the other wires? Should I unravel them all the way back to the fusebox? Can I just cut them off somewhere and tape them up? Same question with the other wires that were used with the 3 wire alternator.

Thanks a lot. :)

I still hope to get this on the road in a week, but I have a lot to do. :)

I would not simply cut and tape wires under any circumstance. If you want to extend or replace wires, you can cut them, but you should either use a quality crimp type connector, or solder and use heat-shrink tubing. Someone with more automotive sense may know of better options as well, but cutting and taping is just not good.

I'm planning on soldering and shrink tubing any connections, but what about the original harness that I no longer need? I don't just want the unused wires sitting there, any ideas?

Thanks Pat... do you have a pic of the bracket and how it attaches? I know where it's supposed to go, but it doesn't seem to fit the way that I have it.

Thanks. :)

Maybe go on to the Zip site and look at the parts listing for the PS pump and bracket. I'm pretty sure it has a picture of how everything goes together. As far as your wiring, you could carefully remove the wires you don't need at the 2 piece connector to the fuse block and it wouldn't look hacked. :smash:

Thanks Pat. That helps.

My bracket looks a little different than yours. I think that is why I am having problems. Is yours just a flat piece of metal? Mine is an "L" with a curve in it.

Maybe I just need a new bracket?

Thanks. :)
