Aside from the multiple complaints from neighbors when I roll in around 3:00 AM from the club every other night and the fact that I can't hear the radio when I'm driving, I'm thinking about replacing my sidepipe mufflers. I have the straight through glasspack style and am thinking about the reverse flow "turbo" style ones. Anybody have these and how do they sound?
Had em in and back out the same day. they suck up all your power... Remember when you were a kid and you used to make string and can walky talkies... :D get the picture...
I agree with the rest. I had mine in for one day then sent them back to Summit to exchange for the glass pack. Had them in for 2 years, then went to Spiral-Turbo mufflers. What did you say?!
I have a set of Hooker sidepipes, how can I tell if they have the reverse flow mufflers in them? What does the reverse flow muffler look like compared to the regular muffler?
Thank you,
Tom
Tom. You mean you don't have those on your car yet............ If you can see through the mufflers, chances are you have glasspacks. (approx. 1 5/8") If you can't , they have to be reverse flows. If you need to see some, e-mail me. I've got both at the shop. JCL :yesnod:
If your sidepipes sound like a Caddilac , they have reverse flow mufflers installed.
I use the reverse flow mufflers every 2nd year for 1 day for the governmental technical test that includes a noise test.
The glasspacks failed this test.
Yes, they do eat a lot of power. All depends on your style of driving wheather you realize it more or less.
