460 front coils
I'm thinking about getting and installing 460 front coils when I install new ball-joints, tie-rods, idler ect. Will these reduce the ride height of the front end? Also, just wondering, what is the rating of stock coils.

Re: 460 front coils (74 vert)
Most everyone I know that has installed 460 lb front springs has gained front end height.
Most people have to cut 1/2 to 3/4 coil to get the car where they want it. 1/2 coil seems to give a bit lower than stock ride height, and 3/4 is good for a nice low look.
I cut a little over 1 full coil and with my low profile tires my car is very low.
I guess I was one of the lucky ones. My '74 came out lower with the install of the 460 lbs. springs.
I guess I was one of the lucky ones too.....I installed the 550 lb coil springs and lost about an inch up front......Nice looking drop..... :flag :seeya Cappy
When I installed the new 460# coils I gained about 1", so I took them out and had one complete coil cut off... :smash: Now they are just right for me  www.angelfire.com/al/swhite7/frontend.html

The 550's sold by most companys are the 460's with one coil removed. You loose 1" in height and it changes the rate to 550.
I have the 460 coils on mine. click the link below to the fullsize pic and you can see how it sits. the tires are 235/60-15 so theyre a bit shorter than stock but you get the picture.

Thanks guys, I'll post before and after pictures after I purchase the coils and install them. I found some powder coated black ones for $79.00.
The bubba who owned the car before me put a rubber spacer on the driver side coil  , so they most definitly need attention
