Rolling on the 50th Caravan.....
We will be driving our RV with the 69 on the trailer following TZracer and his freshly reworked 71 big block.
Looks like a lot of fun!
Hope to see you guys there.
Chris
Dave (TZracer) has been clicking along fine, and even got in some hot laps at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
We left Georgia at 6:00 this a.m., and rolled into our driveway at 12:00 p.m. today.
Between still having parts of the flu, the mechanical problems, and a host of other problems, it was best we just came home.
I will catch you guys in BG the next time.....maybe the 75th????
BTW--the 69 was just fine. It rode on the trailer the whole time, safe and sound with a full tank of gas ripping and ready to go.
We were doing the RV, because that is our rolling hotel room, and we were going to stay out at Beach Bend, then split off and do some vacation stuff outside of the 50th activities.

Wonder if Chris made it to Nashville? Look at this link.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
So, at 7:00 Friday morning (6/27), I told Nikki to get up and pack some clothes. We could easily have taken her 2000, but what is the fun in that? We could have taken the 90 Vette....but where is the challenge?
So.....I put the spare tire carrier in the 69, loaded it with tools, and hit the road.
We made it to Nashville Friday night and spent time with Nikki's family that was also on a strange twist of fate, traveling through to Ohio.
Into BG on Saturday! What a rush.
We had a blast through the weekend, and peeled out Monday morning. We did not stick around for the cake cutting.
TZracer had a small mechanical failure coming home, that caused a two hour delay. We got in at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
We started out in 90 plus degree heat with stopped traffic on I-75. Thanks to the Vintage Air a/c system, we kept our cool. We came home in the tropical storm with torential down pours. At times I could only follow Dave's 71 tail lights.
The convertible held up great, minimal leaks at 70 mph and no breakdowns or failures. It bested a littled over 13 mpg, but averaged 11. Not so great, but it is a 3.55 gear with no overdrive (yet).
Got to see GroovyJay, and many other great people in person.
I will post pics and more details on my website.

I will have a few more pics to add later.
Jay....Nikki loves the stuff reindeer. We stuck it between the roll bars for the ride home. It is our new car mascott. The shirt is great! I can't wait to wear it to my next local corvette club meeting. It will blow their minds!
