Lookin for some wakeboard advice from you skiers out there.
I'm an accomplished slalom skier (25 year veteran :D) and I want to get into wakeboarding. I looked at my Overton's catalog last nite (I've always bought O'brien and will prolly buy one of those) but don't know what length or what features are desirable. I'm 5'10" and weigh bout 160-165 lbs. Also, is there a better (like in cheaper) place than Overton's to get a board?
I was a skier before I was a wake boarder so I think that is why I prefer the types of wake boards that I do. I like the longer wider boards. I am a little taller and slighty heavier than you, but am much more stable on a longer board than a shorter board. I would look for a board with interchangable fins and bindings. You might start with the "sandal" type bindings but you will want boot type bindings very soon if you stay with it. Wake boarding is fun but takes a little getting used to. You don't have to cut as hard on a wake board to really sky like you do on a ski. Good luck.
