Mirror Restoration
Am in the process of redoing the interior mirror for a '73. These mirrors are basically three part affairs. The mirror glass, a rubber type piece that fits around the mirror glass, and the metal backing.
My question is the glue/adhesive that is used. What is used to glue the mirror glass to the rubber backing and what is then used to glue the rubber backing to the metal backing?

I used contact cement - Pliobond, when I did mine last year.
Paragon uses a dab of silicone to hold the mirror glass to the housing for the outside mirrors.

I've seen a dab of silicone holding mirrors on before - but no experience with
vette mirrors. The glass in my 75 wasn't even glued down. It could be
popped out of the rubber surround (map light mirror).
