So you put your lips on a ***'s butt and suck, interesting.:D Cig. used to be called **** in the US a long time ago.
I bought my mother-in-law the patches when she wanted to quit, told her if she started again she had to pay me back. She ended up quiting and she's over 70.
anyway I had quit for 5 years then when We got the word we were going into Iraq I said kissit and went ahead and started up again cause I figure I might as well help my stress a bit and if I get killed no real harm done!
I know kinda morbid but hell what can a guy say..
I gave me something to do on those really crappy days

I hear ya, I smoked cigars sense I was a teenager and finally gave them up in 2001. Lasted a number of months and then my 13 year old son died, after a couple of weeks I started up again to help my stress level.
I've never smoked (I've always felt that it's easiest to quit a bad habit by not starting) so I really can't relate. However the love of my life quit smoking for me. I never asked her to quit, I just told her that I didn't care for the smoking habit that much. She quit cold turkey and said she is so happy that she did.
Cold turkey is the best way to quit. I did it cold turkey for 8 months about a year ago. I felt so much better and was proud of myself. Picked em back up again. What a fool I am. I had it beat. I'll quit again some day im sure. Like you said, just gotta really want to.
Premium brands are $4.75 a pack at the 7-11 stores around here. I get the generics at the Farm Store for $3.26. I heard that in NYC they are $7 a pack. If that wont make you quit i dont know what would.

I believe your stress level was higher than mine sorry about your
son :blueangel:

I'm very sorry to hear that. If there ever was a good reason to pick 'em back up, that'd be it. :blueangel:
:cry :cry
I quit all the time. What I need is the wife to quit, too.
The only good thing is that I am at less than a pack a week, now.
I could go cold turkey no problem - but not when I come home to it every night.
:cry :cry
It's no fun to see your love inhaling hazardous fumes(Corvette fumes aren't toxic, are they?)
Another thing to be concerned about is being overweight. It can be as deadly as if not more so than smoking. So you quit smoking then gain 50lbs from eating...its a wash. It seems like everything is bad for you these days in one way or another.
July 14th will be 6 years for me. Watched my dad die of emphysema and quit 2 months later. Quitting had and continues to have a significant positive impact on every single aspect of my life and I don't think you'll find many folks who have quit that won't agree. My college minor was addiction studies and it's been said that nicotine may be the most addictive substance known. I can vouch for that. Folks who drive 'vettes tend to have a bit of a rebellious streak anyway and don't particularly care to be told what to do, IMHO. OK, so you won't listen to another person, but you will let a chemical dicate pretty much everything you do - where you eat, who you hang out with, what you do first and last things every day, etc. When I figured this out, it pretty much did the trick for me. I'm one of the beligerent nicotine ***** smokers don't care for, but I refuse to watch anyone I care about kill themselves with tobacco. I watched one of the dearest people in my life (who would have NEVER understood my wanting a Corvette, BTW) get to the point where he couldn't walk 20 steps without being completely out of air and energy, and that image has helped me learn to hate this drug with every fiber of my being. Thanks for the topic and opportunity to speak my piece.
