Usually when engine is very hot, upwards of 220 degrees, I know particularily when i accelerate at about 3/4 throttle, when it shifts into 2nd (automatic) it's like the fuel is cut off for about a second, maybe the spark? I dunno, but actually it only does it when I'm pretty hard on the gas. Let me also point out that I personally rebuilt my carbeurator, so maybe I did something wrong. Wait til glutamine finds out about this, i just rebuilt his carb. This problem showed up about a week ago, i did the carb a month ago. Also note that i did a new cap and rotor, new plugs and wires, and k&N a month ago too. I checked last night and the distributer and HEI is definitely securely mounted.
Re: Corvette has been bogging lately.... HELP (Turbo-Jet)
check the operation of the air valve. .
:iagree:
Mine developed a bog and that's what started me on my Qjet tuning. The secondary airvalve windup spring came completely loose. See if there is decent resistance on that air valve. Mine was so loose it was flopping around like a fish. It I had the secondaries open when I hit second and the RPM's dropped, it would bog. Also if I opened the throttle too much at below 3000rpm I'd get the same bog, especially from a standing start. Initial setting should be 3/4-7/8 turn tight.
