Can anyone recomend a good air comp. the type that you can stow away in the back for filling tires? Is there any good ones,or are they all junk? I bought one last year, the power cord keeps popping out of the lighter receptical and the air nozzle dose not seat on the tire valve very good.It was only 15-20 bucks.I want to replace it with something better if there is one out there. Thanks for any recomdations.

I carried an air pump on my motorcycle. Purchased the CHEAPEST one at Walmart (about $10) and removed the plastic shields to make it compact. (Be careful now of the heat and rotating fans, etc, that will cause injury.)
I think a pump that is just marginally better, than the one you have now, will be a lot more expensive.
I would try to find one that is belt driven. You will get a lot better compressor that way, and it would easily handle tools in the future. They are not nearly as noisy as the direct-coupled units either, but it will take up a little more space. Grainger is a great source.
