HELP!
Why is it a small radiator leak turns into a $1000.00 PITA!
I have a small leak on the top right hand side of my radiator, so thinking I'd do it the right way, I ordered a new radiator.
Now that I've researched the achives, I've found out what a PITA it is to replace these, plus my radiator support has more rust than I thought, so it needs replaced too, plus the foam around the radiator should be replaced, plus, plus, plus, plus, plus :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Now, for the help part.
What's the easiest way to remove a radiator in a 74 vette. 350, 4 speed, no air, if I don't replace the support right now.
How hard is it to replace the radiator support, if I decide to do it?????

It wasn't a horrible job, but it would be helpful to have another set of hands when putting the new rad in place.
I didn't remove the hood on my '77, just the fan & belts.
I can't remember for sure, but I think I had to loosen the shroud and then pull the radiator. If you pull the shroud out (after you've pulled the radiator), put the shroud in place before installing the new radiator.
You may also want to get new foam for the sides/top of the radiator. It helps keep air from escaping from the side and helps it go through the rad like it should. I bought the foam kit, but I think "off the shelf" foam from Lowe's or Home Depot would do just as well.
Others will probably have more useful info.
Good Luck.
