Good luck with the 72', that's a nice find. Keep us updated on it, and post some pics of her sometime.
My father and I started our love of Corvettes with this 72' Targa Blue LS5. She sat in a field, beside a barn, for 15 years. After a 6 year frame off, this is what she turned out like...
Thanks for all the encouragement . I actually get to pick the car up Wednesday 16th. I will get pictures but I may need someone to host them for me. Also, I can't post them since my wife is out of town until this Friday and she knows how to do the picture thing. I am just going to take the digital camera and get the pictures and turn them over to her to post. She is upset that she can't be with me to pick up the Vette but work has to come first. ( We have a restoration to pay for) It has the 60"s Crager mags that also come with it. I have been hearing that these are somewhat valuable now. Is this true? Are the old type Crager Mags worth anything? I am going to eventually replace with the original wheels. As far as what we paid, I don't know if we got a bargain or not, however it was the car we wanted so price was not really an issue. We purchased for $9,900.00. We have now both agreed to bring the car back to original color. I am visiting the restoration shop next week to get my car on the schedule. This guy does fantastic body off restorations but is not cheap. I went cheap with my very first Vette, the 75 and will never do that again. I had the car painted, it looked beautiful, however, about 4 weeks after I got the car back, all the stress lines reappeared. Anyway, I will get pics and post them and thanks again for all the encouragement.

It's like finding buried treasure. It's the long lost Corvette that vanished from the face of the Earth and has only since reappeared. It's like finding cro-magnan man frozen in a glacier and thawing him out....
Sounds like my experience. Take a GOOD look at the brakes!!!!! After all those years, brake fluid absorbs water which then settles in the lowest points like the calipers and the rear cross over line. Give serious thought to replacing all of your brake lines and calipers and having your master cylinder rebuilt. Your brake lines may look great from the outside but be paper thin from rusting away from the inside!
I'd hate to see a thread here in the next couple of weeks about your newly re-discovered beauty discovering a tree or telephone poll :cry .
Good luck on your new find! Now that you've gone from a C5 to a C3, you'll have to learn how to wave. :seeya
....just kidding about the wave comment, just kidding..... honest.......
