Ok, just purchased my first vette. '69 350/350 4spd convert. I found all the original paper work, with the exceptoin of a window sticker. I have the protecto plate. How do I decode? Will the protecto give diff ratio and trans type?
Original sales recipt from 1969 shows car came as 350/350hp 4sp, convert, ps, pb pw, tinted glass, posi, am/fm and hard top. What else can I learn from the the potoet-o-plate?
Thanks in advance for any and all info!
Regards,
Marco
Sounds like you bought a great car and WOW!....The Protecto Plate is a pretty rare item!!!!! Do you have the warranty card too???? The Protecto Plate ties in with the warranty card.....
It'll show the VIN #, Engine Suffix code, Date of Delivery and, I believe, the first owners name & address.....I know there are other numbers, quite possibly the trans, but I'm not sure.......
If you don't get any more posts here, then try posting in Factory Correct Resto.....
Also, post a pic of your car.....can't wait to see it
Yes the protecto is still attached to the waranty book.

So who was the original owner?? :) With today's internet resources you can often do a national search and find people, especially if they have an unusual name. MJ
