Default Flowmaster question

i'm ready to order some Flowmaster 40 series mufflers..the 2 chamber 19 total inches with an offset inlet and a center outlet. now on my 74, i have a brand new 2.5" system on it...can i take it to a muffler shop and chop off the connection right behind the stock mufflers and weld the new flowmasters on? I figure i could, but its so close to the body i'm afraid of weld burns on the fiberglass...how did you guys do it or any recommendations or pics? also, what did you guys use for exhaust tips?

Default Re: Flowmaster question (REDSHARKONBOYDS)

I have Flowmaster 40s but I'm pretty sure I went center in / center out. I can get a pic or two tomorrow if you'd like. Mine aren't tucked in and the tips are just straight back round chrome buggers from AutoZone. Muffs don't need to be welded, good quality exhaust clamps work.

You're going to like the new sound. :reddevil
