I got a 4.60 today. It was only my second attempt. Launching is extremely difficult, because I can simply bake the tires. ($48 Yokohamas -- but actually are really good tires.)
Phase 2 - Off idle, shift manual
7.2-7.3
- wheels still spinning
Phase 3 - Clean off/warm up tires by spinning in one spot and in reverse, Brake stand, automatic shift
6.6-6.8
- some wheel spin, some bog before 3000
Phase 4 - Same routine with tires, off idle, automatic shift
6.4-6.5
- can't get the damn tires to grab and go but much better than Phase 1
Phase 5 - Lean out carb, warm up tires, some brake stand (~1500), auto shift
NA b/c started to rain:(
I feel I am getting this right.:D Last year when I borrowed one from luvmy73, I had it down another 0.5. I want to get the best baseline - hopefully 6.0 or so, and then start fiddling with timing, dist, etc.
This is fun.
BTW, haven't figured out HP function yet OR I have a ridiculously weak and light car:lol: b/c I got 93 rwhp on the only run that gave me a reading. :bb
Ran mine today but only in the Explorer, damn Wayne in the rain my 4.0 OHV (rated @ 160hp) I did 12.26  I have to put a lighter in to test the vette, and read the instructions over. My son thinks it is cool, looks like it will be well used up here by him and his friends as well.
I just ordered mine. I can't wait to try it out. The Vette is currently down for upgrades, so I'll have to experiment with it on my V6 Camaro DD and the wife's V6 Grand Am.
:cry I just tested my car, and before I post the results I would just like to say that I'm pretty sure it can do better. I got a rwhp of 142, which at the flywheel is 177. And a 0-60 of 8.25. I only tested it once each time, so I need to test it more, and find some place better to do it. My car probably also needs to be tuned. But this is just sad, its worse than stock!!!!! Ahhh well, at least I got some new side skirts put on, that look nice.
Ahh found a much better place to do the runs, and this time it was about 75deg as oppossed to 90deg at my other runs. Got a 0-60: 7.6 sec, and RWHP: 166 which is 207 from the engine, BETTER THAN STOCK!!!!!!!! :hurray: Still needs a tune up though, so maybe I can get even better!!!

That's what I thought - about the temperature, etc., that is. I did mine when road temp in mid to upper 90's and got 7.1 best time. I know I am better than that. Will have to wait till next fall, or get up early some Saturday morning to make sure.
Now keep in mind it was like 85degrees and were at 4600ft.
Ran a 15.82 at 94. Not sure on the 0-60 on that one.
I found a site that corrected for alt and it came out to a 14.85 at sea level. Not bad for a bone stock 75 L-48. 4 speed works well, the only other test I have seen is a 75 L-48 auto. Ran 16.1 @87 (car and driver 1975)
