Default Correct spark plugs

OK, I need a llittle help. I've been able to push my '79 to a 14.03 et at the local track. I'm racing this weekend and wanna give the car a little hudge into the 13's which I know should be very easy. Now I've got a few things planned and try things, whicj I will do in order and not all at once. First, I'm running with AC Delco Rapid Fires in there and the part # is 2. Is this the best plug for me to use in this application. I think the stock plug was R45TS. Now you should know that my car has has its own 350 with an Edlebrock Performer Cam and Performer Intake. Headers are on there, complete with cut-outs. I'm running street tires which I've been dropping pressure down to 23 psi. Also I've just picked up some VP Racing fuel (octane 105) to try and help push me under the 13 second barrier.

Any suggestions would be a help!

unless the timing is advanced, or it pings now, expect the racing fuel to slow it down.
you don't say anything helpful, like
1.total timing tried wth results
2. shiftpoints tried with results
3. 60' times
4. mph, other et's
5. trans type
New plugs work best.
with a 14.03, a better launch would do a 13
tips in my profile/sig

Thanks Matt,
I do have the recurve done and the timing is advanced to 36 degrees. I've not had any pinging or start-up problems at all. Might I try bumping the timing another degree or 2, say up to 38 total advance? Do you really think the 105 octane is gonna slow me down

yes, try 38 vs. 36 at the track.
i never use race gas because it requires special tuning. But i did read a test where 8 degrees more advance was required to get the same power.

your pretty damn close to the 13's. Nice crisp air up there in canada huh? Heck, a decent tail wind could help push you into the 13's. Getting a good launch is really important and is often and area for improvement. Have you lost as much weight as posible like dropping the spare and emptying compartments and stuff?

Yes, Jvette the spare is long gone. Will try all the easy things like empty glove box, t-top bags, rear speaker boxes. Its all going this weekend. One thing is that the weather has been sooooo humid and by our standards, HOT!
Don't think that will help in my ET hunt! :yesnod:
