I'm slowly renewing all my tatty or worn out bits & pieces of my interior & I've got a new/old wiper switch - does anyone know how to go about getting the old bezel & switch off without knackering the dash please ?
cheers Andrew, I was semi afraid someone was going to say that.....ah well, another project for a rainy week (shouldn't have to wait too long for that in this part of the world !!)
Nice wheels, by the way - any other pictures ?
 Mike
I just pulled the dash in the wifes 79 for the first time. it really wasn't too bad of a job. With the speedocluster, center cluster, and glove box removed it came out fairly easy. Two screws on each end and two clips at the top and out it came. I did break off the right corner but I'm going to replace it this fall so no big deal. It is just a foam material. I did drop the steering column lose giving me more room the get the speedo gauges out. With as easy as it comes out it makes checking wiring very easy. Before I put the new one in I'm going to glue a sheet metal brace under both ends so I don't break the corners off the new one. It made checking out the wiring and airconditioning system very easy.
I didn't see what year your Vette is, but if it's a 78-82, you shouldn't have to pull the entire dash if you don't want to. You will need to remove the speedo/tach cluster, as mentioned. At that point you'll have easy access to both the headlight and wiper switches. I've had to replace the wiper switch twice on my '80 (second time was my own fault for not hooking it up right to begin with). Caution, removing the speedo/tach cluster leads to lots of "while I'm at it's". I ended up changing the wiper switch, headlight switch, all the bulbs in the speedo/tach cluster, and had the speedo upgraded from 85 MPH to 140 MPH. All in all, it wasn't too bad, and looks great now!
