I recently had an installation nightmare. Bought my radio/tape player from Ecklers so it would be authentic to my '69, paid some jerk to install it, wound up with a bill for $305.00, a radio that sounds like a piece of junk, and worse yet - the lights won't come up, the windows won't work, the horn and windshield wipers won't work, and the console is falling apart! (PS - I asked him to put in a couple of nice speakers while he had it apart, and was charged $65.00 for some off-brand name) - bottom line, I won't let him touch it again to fix it or not. I will write it off as a bad experience, but now I'm left with trying to undo all the other things he broke. Probably a fuse, right? But, after just a little looking, I realize I can't find the fuse box - Any suggestions?
Welcome Billy. First off, fuse box is above high beam foot switch--hopefully he wasn't messin' w/it. Second, I know some people are not handy or just don't mind payin for a job--but learn about your car(manuals) and try to work on her yourself--no one will treat her like you will. When someone works on something that's not theirs--they really don't care(my experience). Also, when I changed my radio--found taped wires(w/scotch),cut wires, spliced wires--so you can fix these little gremlins in the waiting--another person won't care--just close her right up. These weren't just radio wires either. If money is not a big issue, I recommend sending the radio back and get a new bezel from Vette Specialties that fits new CD players :hurray: . If you buy from Crutchfield.com, they will give you all the radio installation guides  . Again welcome, I'm kinda new here too--this forum is great--the knowledge and experience here is priceless! :seeya
