I just bought a 1969 convertible (350hp), Lemans blue with blue interior. Frame on restored in late 80's. I noticed some surface rust on frame. I'd like to put something on it to further protect it. Ideally I could just brush something on without hurting the valus of the car. Any suggestions?

If you can get down to bare metal, then prime and paint. If not, try to remove as much loose rust as possible. Then use one of the 'rust converter' products such as POR-15, Carroless or something similar. It's best to top coat these products with a paint for protection.
