I tend to agree with most that 17"s are just right, but I suppose it depends on the type of wheels and the look you want.
I also think that any more than 17" would have a pretty harsh ride. I feel every little bump with the 17"s.

i like norval's idea with 18" in the rear and 17"'s up front. most 17" tires are right around 26" overall diameter. nitto tire makes an 18" drag radial that is like 28.75" overall diameter. so with the 18's you would have more tire sidewall then you would with the 17's.
the only catch would be having the larger diameter tire on the rear. would it look to goofy ? I don't know if I want my vette to look like a plymouth prowler. So norval post some pictures after you do it so I can see what it looks like before I drop a ton of cash on custom wheels. (somebody has to be the ginuea pig)

I dunno anymore, when looking at tire prices and comparing between say 15-16-17....let along 18 or larger sizes.....
the price differentials are such that make anything larger than 17 seem crazy, let alone problematical.....
can't tell me cost of production is all that much differant from a decent 15 inch size tire....bastards....200 bus/wheel is awful high...but 300-400/wheel is stupidly high....

:iagree: '79prowlerorange is right it all depends on tires right now i have 18's with235 35 on the front and they look stupid way to short of side wall but on the back i have 255 40 wich look very good but they are on a 10" rim and are way stretched out so what i am going to doo is put the 255s on the front and put 305 40s on the back then it should look great.
i also think that and 18" on the front and a 20" on the back would look realy good.
