Has anyone had problems installing Brute Force U-joints?
In the process of replacing the u-joints in the half shafts. Everything is cleaned up & preped for re-assembly. Installed the ujoint in the spindle flange but I cant get the locking clips in. Installed one side & forceed the joint against the clip but there is not tenough room to get the second clip installed.

It sound like you have a needle trapped under the cap on one side.. Look at the grease seal near the cross. If one side isn't seated tne the problem is in that bearing.

I agree. I rebuilt my suspension and had the same problem with Spicer u-joints. People suggested that I had a dropped needle bearing, but I thought that couldn't be possible, because I am so particular about everything. I just knew I couldn't have let that happen. Anyway, it happened. I damaged the plastic bearing guards in the process. Anyway, I fixed the problem and it all went back together. U-joints can be a huge pain in the butt if you haven't done them before. Once you learn a few tricks, it gets easier. Make sure that the area where the u-joint cups go is clean and smooth. I was afraid that I might take too much material away while i was cleaning them; however, making them shiney with emory cloth is almost essential. Make sure there are no burrs and you should be ok.

A guy showed me a really great way to install them. If it isn't the needle bearing, you can call me and I can walk you through it on the phone. Good luck..

Thanks Guys,
I had cleaned, bead blasted, & painted everthing already and installed the u-joint in the spindle flange first. Took them apart a couple of times to make sure I had'nt dropped a needle. After playing for a while I decided to try the half shaft end. Went together in two minutes.
Then I figured it out. The spindle flange had bent slightly durring dis-assembly. So I bolted it onto the spindle using a .005" shim to flex the flange
the other way & was able to tap the joint in the rest of the way. Everything moves nice & smooth.
