Re: New mod....vette running like garbage! (Brett K)
It is funny though. This car has been through more drama than a soap opera. The previous owner was a stripper. The original motor was pulled and taken to a friends house to rebuild it several years ago. His wife filed for divorce while he was on a business trip and sold everything in the garage including my motor. The list goes on and on. I guess all this is what gives the car personality and why I could never part with it...even though I wish I would have spent more for a chrome bumper shark in better condition.

Man it has finally been found, the carb that gets 70 mpg and runs on garbage. After all these years of hearing that it was a myth, well thar she is matey right in front of our noses, just wouldn't want to drive behind it.

Talk about no replacement for displacement....... let's see 35 gallons time 231 cu in / gal equals...... man that's like over 8000 cid! Look under the back end of the car and see if it has a septic tank for fuel storage! :lolg:

Yeah - I noticed the disconnected vacuum lines instantly.
Also, there may ba a cooling issue - as the radiator has been 'relocated'.
Your project 'stinks' more than mine. :lolg:
So ... the stripper had 'her friend' rebuild it - and is that why he is now divorced ?
:seeya
Nope I bought the car from a stripper. She must have been a bad one since I only found change under the seat. No singles! After stripping the paint, the wiring had a bit of a melt down, then my uncle backed into it, then I took the engine to a friends house to rebuild it, then his wife went nuts and sold everything, then it sat in the garage for 11 years with baby strollers and wood stacked on it. Damn, what a life this car has had! :jester
