She's not quite up and running yet, but I thought I'd post a couple of my most recent pictures... Before I get about 600 comments on my air cleaner choice and fuel hoses, instead of hard lines, this is just a temporary setup to get things up and running and enjoy a little nice weather cruising... It's perhaps hard to tell as I haven't neatly routed everything, but I did clean up quite a lot of wiring and painted some of my engine compartment... Not perfect, but it is way better than it was before. I hope to fire her up this weekend for sure if all goes well... I still have to enlarge the flexplate holes for the torque converter bolts and hook up my vacuum lines, install my headers, and maybe shim my pulleys a bit... Without further ado:
Looks great dath. Did you buy the set-up from carb to pan or just the long block and added your intake & carb? Either way.... what's the intake & carb?
bgrice: I bought the setup from carb to pan. I bought the distributor, fuel feed, thermostat housing, reused my old water pump, breather, PCV, air cleaner, etc... The carb is a 750 cfm 4150 double pumper with mechanical secondaries. The intake is an Edelbrock Performer RPM. You may have also noticed the little fuel line sticking out from under the carb... That's the nitrous plate for my Sniper setup that I also got with the engine:D I've stuck the jets in for 100HP, and just capped off the lines as it won't be used for at least 1000 miles...
OldSchool: I *THINK* it will fit, but I'm not sure. That's why I still have my old crummy foam fire hazard of an air cleaner stuck up on top. I'm thinking a nice drop base air cleaner should clear, but we'll see...
Thanks for all the comments and help along the way everyone! It's so close to running again. I think it's been a year or so since I last drove it more than three feet, so this is going to be a blast!
