Cool. So we have 4 people now:

Les
1970stingray
1979toy
Hotbrakesracing

Anyone else? Going once, going twice...
I don't know if it's going to fit my application because the crossmember has been modified etc...

In the first one he made it fits fairly snug to the driveshaft. I'm thinking of increasing the clearance, but then the driveshaft could slap around if the ujoint breaks. Maybe it's better to leave it tight?

I used a 2 inch by 1/4 inch piece of aluminum flat stock and took the seats out and installed a plate in the interior and bolts that pass through the floor and through the flat plate. While this doesn't trap the drive shaft from hitting the floor in the even of a failure it will not allow the drive shaft to hang down.
NOt that it would touch the ground in any event.
It is the piece of aluminium in this picture.

No, I modified the stock bracket to do the same thing. The final version of the loop will not have the front part of the steel bracket. It will have 2 more bolts to hold it firmly.

Here's the current count:

For sure:

Les
1970stingray
1979toy
Hotbrakesracing
Marks69BB
Tshort
RodKnock

Maybe:
Grandsportc3

Please let me know if you'd like to be added to either list or if I have you on the wrong one. I will have a better idea on price early next week. I think it should be possible to get it under $100. Also would like you to think about what coating you want. Black powdercoat or hard anodizing (looks like a grade 8 bolt. Kind of goldish).

I will make a pic of my setup... I think that the bowtie bracket mounts in the same location as that driveshaft loop... Don't know.. I will make a pic of my setup ...

The driveshaft loop has to be different with a TKO than with a standard transmission.. The driveshaft with a TKO is shorter...

Anodized would contrast better with the underside of the car and make it easier for the tech to see at the race track. That's my vote.

Will that interfere with the Muncie shifter bracket?

Put me down as a maybe, for now.

The shifter bracket should clear just fine. It is located above the crossmember, and the loop goes towards the rear.

The final version will move the loop slightly rearward so that it also works with the longer tremecs and 4-speed automatics.

I'm really concerned about where the shifter bracket mounts to the crossmember. It mounts on the rear face of the crossmember. Perhaps, the loop will just need 2 more holes, but I'd imaging it would need to be made wider where it fits over the crossmember to make up for the extra width due to the shfiter bracket.

Here is a pic of the shifter bracket:

It also looks like there is a lip on the shifter bracket which may interfere with the DL bracket.

The guy building them has a friend with a 69 and a muncie. I asked him to put that car on the lift and make sure it will fit.

You could make them wide enough to fit the 4 speed cars and send spacers with the ones for automatics.
