I still have hte points in mine for one reason I do not want to get stuck some where, points always give you a warning ........ electronic ignition just stops working.

So a good dual point system and a hefty coil will work just as well as these new fangled funny lookin mangetic/optical systems?

Yes and you will likely never do any maintenance to them........I have not in two years and I have Never had a problem. Car pulls strong past 6500 and idles great at 700 rpm

Nice unit, Just to expensive for us Canadians with the .50 cent dollar. The GM HEI is the best dist. out there. Can't beat the price $50.00 at the bone yard. I use a small electronic tach mounted on the steering colume.

I have the Unilite on my '71 with the electronic pickup. I converted it from the dual points setup that the previous owner installed. Just had to get rid of that Model-A technology and move into the 21st century...

I had a unilte and a dual point dist lock up at high rpm (8000) when the advance wieghts became loged in the plate above the advance mechanism. One broke the cam second one spun and ripped all the plug wires off. Since then every thing I use is msd magnetic trigger. No more burnt electric laser eye for me.

"Guru" What gives you have over 19,000 posts. How did you do that and how long has this board been around. With 19,000 post you must have started this board when the 1st C1 Vette was built. But wait that can't be true Dam! the net was not invented then.

Well I was a very sad lonely man for a healthy amount of time. If you have no life 300 posts a day is easy
