I made great progress with my front clip installation on my 78 today. The fan was no longer hitting the shroud, the hood gaps were good all the way around. Then I realized that the block of wood which I had wedged between my alternator bracket and the radiator support had slipped. This block was maintaining the required 43" distance between the front edge of the firewall drip edge and the bolt of the hood hinge. When I put the block back in place, the hood won't sit flat (it hits the radiator support) and the fan rubs at about 7 o'clock.
Supposedly, I should be able to lower the whole radiator assembly by moving the front frame extension up or down. The problem is, when I do this, the nose support rod moves with it.
