Where can I find some new AC lines for my '72 454 4-spd with AC?
Any other items I should replace? This car has not had working AC in it for maybe 10-15 years. I was going to replace the compressor or maybe have it rebuilt. I have two sets of lines for the car, but neither look good nor do I trust them to hold the R12 in (spendy stuff.)
Autozone carries most replacement parts for the A/C. I am willing to bet your car has the long compressor in it and they have that instock for about 100 bucks. The main compressor hose will have to be ordered and is about 80 buck. They have the dryer and orifice tubes in stock as well. The only think I was not able to get there was the high side A/C line and I had it made at a car quest here in town. I rebuilt my A/C (minus replace the condensor and evaporator) from around 300 buck.
Hope that helps,
Robby
:iagree:
Most of the vendors that sell parts for C-3's will probably have the low side hose, but you will more than likely have to have the high pressure hose (between the condensor and evaporator) made for it.
Just look in your phone book under "hoses" and I bet you will find a place that can make it for you. Take them your old hose and make sure they understand what the application is so they use the correct material (they used the wrong rubber on mine the first time and in about a week it started growing)
