Default brake booster question

The parts books show the same booster 68-76 and a different one for 77-82 does anyone know what the difference is between the two?
Thanks

I believe 68-76 is painted black and has an adjustable rod between the booster and master cylinder. 77-82 is Cad. plated and the rod is not adjustable.

A little black paint and a master cyl. matched to the booster should be okay.
Thanks alot

The year difference is due to a change in master cylinder design. The early booster was for a power brake master cylinder that used a deep piston pushrod well (same depth as the manual brake cylinder but with the larger 1.125 diameter piston bore). They changed the master cylinder piston design in 77 for a shallow piston pushrod well. You can use either booster as long as you use the correct master cylinder.
