Default Engine question.

Hi,

I am looking to get a new engine for my 75 vette.

I was planning on getting the ZZ4 engine with 355HP but now I am thinking on putting a fuel injection system on it.

I got two options ONE is I get a GM RAM JET 350 engine

Or I get the ZZ4 and install the Edelbrock Performer RPM Pro Flo EFI System

There is only a difference of 500$

Is there somebody that has one of these setups ?
Or can somebody give me some advice about this.

Thanks in advance.

I am guessing since your asking you dont have mad xp on the engine builds... me niether. My opinion would be to get the one already all setup. However be sure it will actually fit under the hood.

I personally just got a ZZ4 and in the future I plan for a FI system. I figured for the get go though it was a cheaper/quicker option and I could build up to it. I mean if money was no object ... thats a horse of a different color.

Good luck and let me know how its all going.

From what I've read, I think the RAMJet would be a better running engine. The top outputs would probably be similar, though.

I asked about this a while ago. I think I spoke with Jim Pace Pontiac - and they said the hood wouldn't clear the RAMJet intake. Maybe it would clear an L88 hood, though.

Haha... it looks awefully powerful... haha...
Actually the funny part is I havnt installed it yet. So many little loose ends and whatnot to work through. Waiting on parts to arrive and the like. I also want to take the time mock everything up on the stand so there are no surprises when I go to drop it in. I will absolutely positively be posting when I get some real progress made and have any thoughts.

Most comments I have heard in regards to the ZZ4 is that its kick-butt and if its not enough stock its not to hard to make it even more badass. I dont think I compromised (spell check?) at all with this engine. Many others talk about AR Racing engines and they look and cost great. I just want to keep on the solid track for this project. Maybe next chevy will get an AR in it.

btw:: I am working on a 75 myself ... so keep me in mind if you go the ZZ4 route I will try and document and remember any issues that sparked me.

If you need info on installing an eng there are many books out on the subject. After all it is just an eng install, the ZZ4 is not much diff than any other eng out there.
