Speaker boxes
A few months ago there was a post that had plans for making custom speaker boxes for the back of C3's. I did a search on speaker boxes but couldn't find the post I was looking for. Does anyone have the plans for those boxes or did anyone make the boxes and have pictures they could post. Thanks.

Here are two good ones from the TECH TIPS section. One is mine for the 68-77 (so I'm partial to that design :hurray: ) I don't mean to toot my own horn, but BEEP BEEP. (I stole that line from Jackass) lol

Something you guys might want to consider is that the box size needs to be determined based on the speaker used.

In general car speakers like 6X9 are infinite baffle speakers & therefore are designed for a large box like the trunk (of a normal car).

A set of truck speaker boxes will fit in the back of most C3's and still allow room for t tops to be stored. I have these being power by a 2x75 amp and I get plenty of bass. They can be removed in a matter of seconds for extra storage. You can usually find a pair for under $100.

If you are going for 6x9s I made a template of the fender wells with card board the used that to make wood plates that I mounted the speakers in. The plates are carpeted and sit just below the cargo cover, and sound great.

Read this article before you build them. My original boxes were made out of 1/4 inch plywood and I couldnt figure out why the 6X9's has NO bass. Well I just built a new enclosure out of 3/4 inch and now I have BASS! The trick also is to build them absolutly airtight. Ill post pics when done....
