lower shock mnt????
has anyone had trouble installing lower shock mounts, :( my left rear came out no problems, used the tool and out it came, while installing I was 1/16th of an inch from seating and the threads pulled through the nut :sad: I was using a box end wrench and then a 3/8 impack.. now I have to wait untill tuesday to get another from CCentral, It says made in usa I will use a 1/2 inch impack wrench next time....bushog :skep:

I had the same problem with some I bought that were made in China. The supplier bought them back and paid for shipping as well. The torque on those nuts should be 85 ft/lbs, I would not recommend using anything other than a torque wrench. Give them a little rap with a hammer once they get close, it might help to reduce the pressure of drawing them on with the nut.

Be sure that you don't have any rust or paint on them to hang them up. I like to wire brush them and use some never-seize on them. I tap them in then tighten the bolt. You can get new ones or reconditioned ones form Bairs. I used a reconditioned one and you can't tell the difference between new.

well I got a used one from the junk yard it looks almost new!!!! :thumbs: I installed it on sat. no problems with this one, torqued to 75lbs and stainless steel cotter key :smash: I think the one I got from C/central was to big in diameter.. also only paid $25.oo for itr :thumbs: :thumbs: bushog
