My '69 (350/300, MT, no a/c) is still overheating, so I may have to replace the radiator. If the radiator is going to have to come out, I'd rather replace the heavy old brass radiator with a lighter aluminum one.
Will any of the Griffin universal Chevy aluminum radiators fit me (see above for specifics on my car)? Which one? This seems to be a much cheaper alternative to the Be Cool Corvette-specific units.
Also, does anyone know whether Goodyear makes heavy-duty radiator hoses and fan-belts that fit my application?

Re: quickee radiator help needed! (Kevin Mason)
Unless someone has changed your stock radiator once already, it should be an aluminum radiator already. A stock 350/300 MT and no AC came with an aluminum radiator.
This is the one I just put in my car from DeWitts. It never gets above 200 now, and running down the road it stays on 180. It has been like this all summer.
The problem with universal radiators is that the inlet and outlets generally don't point the correct direction for Corvette hoses. So you have to adapt something......
i bought the Sumitt aluminum rad and i love it...only difference is that you have to use a flex type lower hose...
not sure if its available for automatics tho... http://store.summitracing.com/partde...57#largerimage
oops...just noticed yours is a 69...dont know for sure about fit then but i dont think it would matter...
Some people value there time and do not want to modify anything. This is the cheapest "direct fit" on the market. The universal that you bought is fine... for you. I noticed it didn't have the lower pin mounts or the top mount. I don't know how tall it is or if it even fit the core support. I'm sure the shroud had to be cut. It's not sapossed to have a filler neck, the upper and lower tube are in the wrong location. If those things don't bother you then the universals are fine. I have also heard of problems with flex hoses on the suction side collapsing due to the softness and no spring. Finally, most of the universal cheapo's are made overseas :flag
